Read Books-Make Money as a book reviewer

Read Free for 60 days

Maybe? There are a ton of places that say you can get paid to read and review books, however, I cannot recommend any of them as I  have signed up but never worked it because the books aren’t my bag. If I am going to read something and stay awake, it needs to be something I am interested in.

My idea of “fun” beyond video games with my family is to read books, watch webinars and listen to podcasts. I prefer marketing, sales, and personal growth niches. I am particularly interested in neuromarketing and subliminal messaging and would love to attend Stanford for the Ph.D. program that is offered. Although I doubt they have any interest in a crazy cat lady mom who uses the F word a bit too frequently. I feel bad for anyone that tries to read all of my notes and realizes I am batshit crazy. Just call me the Einstein of marketing (sorry Tesla, I don’t have that kind of relationship with my cats!)

As a crazy side hustle idea, one could conceivably offer these services for a small fee. I set up a category on M&K Gigs-so have at it! There are a ton of writers out there who would love to have reviews when the book is published. Especially if they are on Amazon Kindle, the more people that download and read it with good reviews, the higher the book goes in the ranks. At least that is from what I understand of the self-publishing program.

C’mon show me the goods!

If you really want to go all-in as a book reviewer, I am not gonna leave you hanging. I have joined one site that has great reviews from other bloggers, I will update this post if/when I get paid.

So if you want to try this experiment with me, you can sign up at Online Book Club. Other blogs that I have read claim you can make $5-$60 per review. Doing the math, depending on how long it takes you to read a book and write up a review, you can probably do pretty well if you’re getting the higher paying projects. For me, a decently paying book review each week would cover the expenses of running this blog! #goals

You do have to post one review free of charge in order to be a paid reviewer. It seems like there are quite a few guidelines you will want to familiarize yourself with before diving in. If you don’t have it already, or don’t have a kindle you’re definitely going to want the free kindle app. At first glance, it seems that a lot of the books are on Kindle.

Not bad for a side hustle, but I should probably file it under beer money.

If you’re doing this experiment with me, drop a comment and let us know if you’ve gotten paid and how it’s going. Inquiring minds want to know.

**Update, I never got around to reviewing, although I did read the book!**
