How to be a Customer Service Rep from home
Starting a side hustle in customer service is relatively easy, cheap, and a go-to for a quick paycheck. What people realize though after the first week is that it fuckin’ sucks. People suck, they are rude and obnoxious. They yell at you and treat you like everything in their life that has gone wrong for the past decade is all your fault. On the bright side, there is a very low barrier to entry. Essentially if you have a high school diploma or a GED you can get started in the field fast.

How will I learn to be a customer service rep from home?
In a call center environment, the client will train you on everything you need to know about a product or service. They will train you to answer or start a call, use their system, and do anything else you will need to work with them. In many cases, the lines of being an employee versus an independent contractor get very blurred so make sure you are well versed in the laws in your area.
You can also take classes online through Udemy or a similar service to learn the basics of customer service. If you are serious about making a career and a business out of phone work, this is something to look into. Knowledge is power. I, however, wouldn’t pay hundreds of dollars for a program, but Udemy is usually a cheap option to learn something new.
Where do I find a work-at-home customer service job?
There are a lot of places that are always hiring people for sales and customer service jobs. The industry has a high turnover rate so places are always hiring. You can try Indeed & Craigslist if you want to find something not attached to a bigger company but here are a few places that hire beginners:
There are many more companies out there that will pay you to chat on the phone with their customers. If you have all the technology set up and ready to go, you can start to make money within a few weeks.
